Recently I have had both the Honor, and Pleasure, of meeting Marion Hunt-Doig and her Husband Fred, in person. The viberance of intelligence and cultural heritage was astounding. It was about 28 years ago that I took a First Peoples educational program at my respective school, and if my memory serves me correctly., Marion Hunt-Doig was a part of that. I was amazed at the depth of the heritage and culture of these, The First Peoples of North America. I learned how, for thousands of years, these people lived in harmony with thier home, Earth, taking and using only what they needed, and offering respect and gratitude in return to their home, Earth. This knowledge and respect I learned for The First Peoples has stuck with me for my lifetime.
It is my opinion that if We, The caucasion races, had only taken the time to study the ways of the First Peoples and learn from them and use those ways, the world would be a far better and different place than it is today, rather than they absolute mess we have made out of it. I am ashamed of my own heritage for what we have done to these , The First Peoples of North America, how we came here and forced our ways and beliefs upon them, showing absolutely no respect for them whatsoever, killing Men, Women and Children who would not bow to our ways and beliefs, herding them like cattle into reservations , like a corral, once we realised they where actually much better people then we where and we could not defeat them nor could we fully convert them to our ways and beliefs, the simple fact being, that these people are THE First Peoples, the true ones who belong here, and once we are gone, they will remain, to once again take their rightful places. One can only hope the powers that be, take the time to study the culture and ways of The First Peoples, and integrate them into our existance, it is for the benefit of us all.
